Documented protection for direct solar viewing

Tember solar eclipse glasses are listed as Category II PPE on Module B EU Type-Examination Certificate CE-PC-260615-499-01-9A. Models C2026, B2026, G2026, P2026 and Y2026 were assessed to EN ISO 12312-2:2015 under Notified Body 2834.

Use them correctly

1. Inspect the filter before every use. Never use a scratched, punctured, torn or loose filter.
2. Put the glasses on before turning toward the Sun.
3. Turn away from the Sun before removing them.
4. Keep proper protection on throughout every partial or annular phase.
5. Only observers inside the confirmed path of totality may remove them, and only while the Sun's bright face is completely covered.

A brief phone photo?

For a brief, non-magnified phone shot, an undamaged filter may fully and securely cover the active phone-camera lens before the phone points toward the Sun. Protect your eyes separately. This does not apply to DSLR or mirrorless cameras, telescopes, binoculars, optical zoom lenses or attachments; those need a purpose-built solar filter fitted to the front of the optics.
